Last Monday I dropped off all side mouldings, rear bumper and front lip to my painter for the final round of painting. I was planning to attend the JDMYard 2014 EOYM on the Saturday 20/12/2014, a scene I had yet to really enter and from what I saw online from previous years it looked like the biggest Honda meet of the year, so I was really hoping to get the parts back from paint to fit them in time.
Friday after work I picked up the pieces and rushed home to start fitting. Honestly it took ages as I was also adjusting height on the car, polishing etc. I was up to 2am trying to fit the side mouldings, the idiot I was removing I broke the clips that held them in and had yanked them off, resulting in bending them. So trying to fit them back onto the car was a real nightmare. I had to cake on Sikaflex to hold most of the moulds on, however I simply ran out of time to do the door ones. As it was 2am all I could do was tape up the holes with white electrical tape.
Early the next morning I washed the car, and fitted a Honda Primo banner I had recently bought. I rushed off to the meet already being late and tired.
Cruising to the meet I was along side various other Honda's heading to the same event, it was such a cool feeling which I had yet to experience. Upon entering I had quite a few eyes pointing my way, I felt this was because from my searching on the internet theres a lack of ED/EFs in our country and in the scene as they are older, carburettoed from factory etc.
One guy came up as I was driving through and asked if the wheels were from Pat which was cool to see people knew of the wheels, later I was added into a secret group of OG people in the community, but thats a secret story to be never told.
From memory someone told me to park here in the front row, amongst some lovely other built Honda's. Awesome day walking around and seeing all the other builds, met new people, learnt new things, drove home really happy of the experience and thinking of whats to come.
That night I met up with some friends at the local car wash to chill and chat.
And a photo of the car the next day looking fresh. I wish the condition of everything stayed the same forever.
