Curb 1 : Civic 0

Since the track day nothing has really happened with the Civic, just been working and enjoying the car. The track day destroyed quite a few bushings as they are most likely the original bushings from 25yrs ago, so I don't blame them.

Coming home one night it had been raining, taking the usual path home it goes through a few round-abouts. Silly me I decided to not reduce my speed to the conditions but stay just under the speed limit through the round-about, I was going straight through so first you turn left a bit and then when I turned right to go around the round-about the steering wheel slipped and I aqua planed into the curb.

Yeah it wasn't a good feeling. I got out and checked the car, front lip hanging off a bit and the wheel was pushed back with a buckle. I drove home as I was only 5 minutes away, to assess the damage. I drove back in mums car to the scene to see if anything had fallen off, it was so slippery i was able to ride and slide on my feet..

The damage report.. Appeared to have push the front of the frame back I think, bent the castor rod and lower control arm. It'll require those parts replaced, and the lower frame pulled out on a jig. New fender would be good too.

Comparing bent vs the replacement:

So me, Al and a school mate Terri purchased a ED wreck as we all needed various parts from it. We had it delivered to Al's where we started parting it, but then it needed to be removed from there as we left it on the road and the council wasn't happy about that, so we had it towed to Terri's who lives near me.

We continued to all take various parts from it to fix all of our cars, and also keep spares. Eventually we had it scrapped.
