Cracked exhaust, 6pt harness, wheel alignment

So yeah, about that cracked exhaust.. I made this exhaust for the B swap 3yrs ago using bits of new piping along with old sections a friend had, MIG gasless welding.. I learnt welding in highschool for a major project, however welding without gas is rather crappy at times.. Hey it lasted this long lol.. When I have some spare money next year I plan to do a completely new system with gas, try to position it closer to the body of the car, and flange the rear section as I'd like to make a muffler delete piece purely for the fun of it

My daily Mazda SP20 got hit by someone else just before H Nationals, and on the way down to Honda Nationals they rang me to say it'll be a complete write off.. So I had to daily the Civic until I bought a new car which took 2 weeks. I removed the roll cage and put rear seats in to try be a bit more police friendly. I've wanted to take the cage out as where they drilled the holes for the bolts they didn't spray, including the plates on the outside of the chassis which started to surface rust.. No idea why they didn't paint it but oh well, I have gone ahead and painted them in black.

I wanted to attend more track days this year, however it was my final year of my university degree so I decided to pay more attention to that to ensure I passed everything with flying colours, which I have! Next year I plan to do a lot more track days, with a few slight upgrades however I want to achieve my 1.09 at Wakefield with the car setup as is

25/7/2020

Well well well, look whose posting after nearly a year-ish.. What's my excuse? During Honda Nationals 2019 was my final Uni semester so I "focus'd" on finishing that off, went to Darwin over X-mas then spent Jan/Feb job hunting for a position in my field which I had secured by the 1st week of March, just in time for COVID19... My initial plan was to attend the track a fair bit this year since I have the new coilovers however only really used them at Honda Nationals, just wanted to get used to them and get some solid seat time in.

However COVID19 kinda threw that plan out the window as I'm sure it did for many people. Luckily I have been working from home after 4 days at the office of my new job, so the funds for many track days are waiting to be used.

The Civic has pretty much sat in the garage as a storage unit/work bench, last October I bought another RT4WD Wagon from QLD which I was carrying out rust repairs on, so the Civic made the perfect work bench and storage unit for many parts. However, now NSW is allowed to return to the track I managed to book a day after most of July being booked out. Next Saturday (1st August) I have my Wakefield return day, have a few things to tend to on the car before then.

I get my alignments done at the same mechanic my parents use since they moved here when I was born. They always do a good job, and as they also look after some 2nd divison V8 Supercars, along with a huge variety of more classic muscle cars/collector cars, not just your average mechanics. The posters on the wall have been there since I was a kid!

Last weekend I also decided it was time to part ways with my old "JDM as fk" Takata 4pt harness. I decided I might as well got a 5pt or 6pt whilst I'm buying a new harness, so I dropped by Revolution RaceGear and picked up a RPM 6pt harness. I installed it, having to drill 2 holes under the drivers seat within CAMs spec, and wrapped the 2 shoulder straps around the harness bar on the cage. However I forgot to take any photos of installation, was a bit strapped for time.

Quick service + spanner check and she's ready to go!
