Today was the day to reinstall the engine and gearbox. Laid out the mount bolts on the car so they were easy to access, and decided to install the passenger side hardline that runs through the bay, easier to do this before the motor goes in.
Mounted the gearbox onto the motor on the ground. It was then time to put it in. Dad came to help and to be honest, we had it from on the ground to bolted in the car within 10-15 minutes tops, a good chunk of that being careful and going slow to make sure I didn't scratch the freshly painted engine bay.
Great to see the motor & gearbox bolted back into the car, it's now time to start throwing things back onto it. Lets go!
Chatting with Grant from Honed, he suggested putting the front engine/gearbox mount back on would help secure the motor a bit more, which would also be beneficial for the car too. Issue comes is I can't actually do that for my setup. The Innovative traction bar comes with a front engine mount option welded to it, and you buy the bracket separately. Luckily my spare SiR one actually had it, and the mount brand new too!
However as you can see from the photos, there's no provisions for bolts on the front of the gearbox. The D series and SiR B16A have the provisions to do so. The B18C came from the Integra, which uses some bolt holes on the front of the gearbox in the middle of it, which mounts to the drivers side chassis leg. I might need to look into some sort of custom mount in the future.
