It has been a while.. v2

It's been a while aye.. Last I posted on the wago was 04/08/2019, as thats honestly the last time I worked on it. What happened was in October 2019 I purchased another wagon! It had been sitting in on a farm in northern QLD (Nothern Australia) for 10-15 years until someone bought it who had it for a year or so but did nothing with it, so I bought it!

I'm writing this post in the future (March 2023) as I'm behind across all my build threads, but this blue wagon was supposed to be a quick buy, get it running, sack it on some nice wheels and enjoy it whilst I worked on the maroon wagon, and then eventually sell it.........

Well well well, turns out it leaked a ton of water with the same rust issues on the crowl, and as it was parked on my mums driveway I actually had to get this repaired. We got it done, using what we learnt on the maroon wagon and learnt even more.

TLDR; we got all the rust done, painted the repaired areas and even did 2k clear coat, and got it registered. I'll post a few photos below of the final product once we were done, but in the long run I've spent a lot more time and money on this one, currently finishing off a Concerto EFI swap as the carby motor only drove 3 times! Make sure to visit the build thread I'll create for it soon, a.k.a Frogo!

Anyways, back on with maroon wagon..

Obivously the other big elephant in the room if 2020 was the first year of Covid, so that obviously stopped progress on anything as you can imagine. I had the blue car pretty much done between November 2019 and January 2020, then we had our lockdowns where the car just sat waiting rego.

In November of 2020 when people were out and about again, unfortunately the maroon wagon took it's first turn at becoming a the true barn find project.. My father decided to move out of that property and in with his new partner which meant to cars could go there as there wasn't space apparently, so I was genuinely looking to cut up my EF9 shell and maybe sell the maroon wagon.

Luckily a friend took the EF9 shell into storage (bit after going to a massive farm to sit in a field) and my lovely girlfriends parents said we could leave the maroon wagon at theirs. Eventually we will plan to move out and have our own place, and then the wagon can come live there.

With this, I had to put the panels back on the car and pack up ALL the spares. It was really annoying doing this, as I didn't want things packed away to rot in boxes but we kinda had to. We shoved 1 of the motors into the car, as theres an axle still stuck to the knuckle we couldn't manage to get the gearbox on so that went in the boox. We then towed it to my girlfriends parents house and pushed it to the back of their carport, luckily it'll be out of direct rain unless it comes in on an angle. We covered up any missing windows, then tarped it and put a car cover over it to hold it all together.

Time to rest my friend, you will come back in the future.
